Kirsten (she/her) was raised on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish people in Coquitlam. University took her to Nanaimo to study Fisheries and Aquaculture, then later to SFU for PDP. She has taught in the Nanaimo district (unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw and Sna-naw-as peoples) for 16 years, and in online learning for most of the last 10 years. Her teaching areas are Science, Junior Math and Careers. One of her focuses over the last 5 years has been increasing engagement in full time students at Island ConnectEd. She loves her family, pets and Star Wars.
